The Foley Police Department arrested a woman in connection to a child abuse case.
On March 3, police arrested Allyiha Takia Presley, 28, of Foley. She was charged with aggravated child abuse, a Class A felony.
Police were notified by the Department of Human Resources after a child was treated for injuries. According to a complaint filed in Baldwin County District Court, Presley was accused of pushing her three-year-old son while she was spanking him, causing a spiral fracture to his left tibia. The complaint states the abuse took place on more than two occasions.
Presley is being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on a $7,500 bond.
Court documents show Presley has a criminal history dating back to a domestic violence arrest in 2018. That case was dismissed.
She was arrested again in 2019 and charged with possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of dangerous drugs and second-degree possession of marijuana.
In 2020, Presley was back behind bars and charged with drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude. She was also arrested for failure to appear but was given probation a year later. That same year she was booked for a drug court sanction and attempting to elude. She served 30 days in jail.
Presley is considered innocent until proven guilty.
