One of the area’s most cherished events broke records this weekend. People from Baldwin County and hundreds more from around the south drove to the small town of Elberta to taste the amazing sausage and enjoy the historic festival.
Festival Chairman, Seth Fuller, explained “We broke the record that we broke the previous festival.” He added “Mother Nature threw us a bit of a curveball with the wind, which really started affecting the grill and caused slow cook times. We already have a plan to counter that should it happen again.”
The Elberta German Sausage Festival Made The Following Announcement:
We cannot thank everyone enough for coming out and supporting us, and making this one of the best events around. We couldn’t do this without the community, our wonderful vendors, and our selfless volunteers that work incredibly hard to make this top notch. We certainly hope to see everyone at our next festival in October – which leads us to two big announcements.
First, we are pleased to announce the launch of Elberta Community Partners (ECP for short). Elberta Community Partners is a 501(c)(3) (currently pending) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for everyone who calls Elberta home. While this organization is new, our commitment to this town is long-standing. ECP was founded by members of the Elberta Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD)—the same group of dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly to protect our homes and steward our community traditions. For more information, visit the ECP Facebook page, or visit the website at https://www.elbertacp.org.
So, what does ECP have to do with the festival? The Elberta German Sausage Festival will now operate under the ECP umbrella, and the festival’s leadership remains unchanged. As a matter of fact, the same people that have served as Chairman and Directors of the festival will serve in those same positions on the ECP Board. We are fully committed to ensuring that proceeds continue to directly benefit the Elberta Volunteer Fire Department and other vital local non-profits, as it always has. In other words, the festival will continue operating as it always has, for the same purpose it always has. Which leads us to our next big announcement…..
Beginning with our October 2026 festival, we will launch a new block party style event called Blocktoberfest! This event will take place on Friday, October 30th (which is the day before the festival) from 6PM-11PM. Blocktoberfest will consist of live music, food vendors, and beer sales from our beer tent. We are also working on amusement rides and some other exciting additions to the event. Think of it as a pre-festival kickoff party!
Again, we would like to thank everyone for making these things possible, and we can’t wait to see you all in October!
