A man is dead after a shooting in Foley, and a suspect is now in custody, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded quickly after receiving a report of a shooting. Emergency efforts were made at the scene, but the victim did not survive.
The incident occurred on Friday, June 5, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m. Deputies were called to Doc McDuffie Road after reports that a man had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies began administering life-saving measures to the victim.
Officials said the victim died at the scene from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released while authorities work to notify his family. A suspect was detained at the scene shortly after deputies arrived.
The suspect has been identified as Patrick Beasley. Authorities said he will face murder charges. He is expected to be transported to the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office began interviewing witnesses shortly after the scene was secured. Crime Scene Investigators also processed the scene for evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public at this time. The investigation remains active as deputies work to gather additional details.
