American Legion Post 99 in Foley is preparing to celebrate 100 years of service to veterans, families, and the community. The milestone marks a century of fellowship and dedication by the local post. Leaders say the event will bring together veterans and residents. The celebration will feature both a community gathering and a formal ceremony.
The celebration will kick off on Saturday, April 25, with a Community Open House at the post. Organizers have announced that the event will highlight recent updates and improvements. Activities will include food trucks, a Low Country Boil, silent auctions, raffles, and displays of classic cars and Jeeps.
The official ceremony celebrating the 100th birthday of the organization is set for Wednesday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m. This event will honor the post’s long history of service to veterans and the Foley community. It will also recognize the individuals who have contributed to building the organization throughout the years.
Post Commander Van Hubbard said, “On behalf of American Legion Post 99 in Foley, Alabama, it is my great honor to invite our veterans, families, friends, and community to join us as we celebrate a truly historic milestone — 100 years of service, fellowship, and dedication.”
During the ceremony, past post commanders and other guest speakers are expected to share memories and reflections. Organizers said the event will focus on the post’s history and its future goals. The celebration aims to bring the community together.
Hubbard also encouraged attendance at both events. “We would be honored to have you join us for both the celebration and the ceremony as we mark this historic occasion together,” he said. Leaders said they hope to see strong community participation.
